LONDON (AP) â€” Daryl Hannah will take on the role made famous by Marilyn Monroe in ``The Seven Year Itch'' â€” but don't expect to get a look up Hannah's skirt.

The West End stage production won't recreate the 1955 movie's legendary scene in which Monroe's skirt billows as she stands over a grate, producer Laurence Myers said Thursday.

``Daryl is not a Monroe impersonator,'' Myers said.

The George Axelrod comedy, which will open in October, tells the story of a middle-aged married man who fantasizes about the girl next door while he is alone in the city for the summer.

Myers could not say whether Hannah would take the route of fellow stars Nicole Kidman, Kathleen Turner and Jerry Hall, who recently shed their clothes for London theatergoers.

``I haven't brought her over here to be naked on stage,'' Myers said. ``She's a wonderful comedy actress, but if the play requires her to appear naked she won't have a problem with that.''
