(Tulsa-AP) -- It started this morning with a scream. Tulsa emergency officials didn't know what to expect when they arrived on the scene of a mock disaster.
In a drill designed to test the city's readiness, firefighters found themselves facing a chemical attack. People posing as victims rushed from a building clutching their eyes and screaming. Firefighters worked to keep them contained fearing the spread of contamination.
Al Seitzinger coordinated the exercise for the U-S Army. He said Tulsa is one of 120 cities nationally to receive the training.
The effort is designed to prevent and improve reaction to attacks such as the Oklahoma City bombing. Seitzinger said Tulsa authorities knew what to do as they arrived on the scene today. But every city tested has found room for improvement.
