(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Hundreds of high school football players are swarming to football camps this summer to hone their skills and maybe someday get a shot as a recruit at one of the schools.
Camps at Tulsa, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma campuses provide coaching in every aspect of the game. Like throw the ball better. Defend the pass better. Improve footwork and block.
And coaches find out lots about state talent. Familiar names of Troy Aikman and Stephen Alexander were both O-U camp attendees.
Mack Butler is director of Tulsa football operations. Butler says they find it to be a big morale booster. He says if you practice together three times a day, you get better as a football player.
