Construction should be light on Oklahoma's interstates and turnpikes this holiday season.
Interstate 35 and Interstate 40 west to Texas will be totally open. The state's turnpikes will only see minor work in places. Interstate 40 east to Arkansas will undergo the biggest project, a 6-mile stretch of repaving that will close it down to one lane there.
Here's a list of some of the projects... Will Rogers Turnpike: Interchanges at Big Cabin, Vinita, Afton, and Miami are being reconstructed. The interchanges are open but narrowed to 1 lane each direction at each interchange. Turner Turnpike: Construction on the Creek Turnpike extension where it joins the Turner Turnpike near Sapulpa will be narrowed to 1 lane each direction for about a mile. Muskogee Turnpike: Bridge repair over US 69 will cause the turnpike to be narrowed to one lane each direction.
