(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The Wildlife Department is proposing that hunters pass the buck when they've already bagged two in a year.
The Wildlife Department has proposed a two-buck limit per year on Oklahoma hunters. That goes toward a total of five deer per year. Hunters can now take three bucks in a one-year period.
A hunter can only bag eight deer in a three-year period.
The two-buck limit is being opposed by the Bowhunting Council of Oklahoma.
Public hearings are scheduled tonight in Oklahoma City, Idabel and Woodward. The Wildlife Commission will make the final decision.
