Former basketball player Dennis Rodman has been arrested in California for alleged public intoxication.
Sergeant Jim Kaminsky of the Newport Beach police says a bar owner called officers yesterday evening. When they arrived, the owner told police Rodman was intoxicated and causing a disturbance.
They asked Rodman to step outside and put him under arrest, then took him to the city jail and booked him on the misdemeanor charge. Rodman was released on his own recognizance.
If the district attorney decides to file charges, Rodman will have to appear in court October 1st.
The 38-year-old Rodman is a former Southeastern Oklahoma standout. He played for the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls before joining the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers waived him in April.
