Lack of sleep is being blamed for an early Friday morning traffic accident.

Tulsa Police say a man driving westbound on I-244 near Yale fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his car. Witnesses say the man was driving at a high rate of speed when he swerved and went up on the embankment and overturning his car.

Police say the man was able to crawl out of his car, and did not appear to be injured. He was taken to an area hospital for observation.
