Despite Thursday’s cold weather, volunteers and Sapulpa's Salvation Army made sure folks in Creek County will have a happy holiday.
They handed out toys and food baskets piled with all sorts of goodies for a Christmas meal. Volunteers say the reaction from the people they've helped, makes it worth all the effort.
Salvation Army Captain Brian Mott: "The gratitude that they say to us, when we say Merry Christmas, sometimes it brings tears to their eyes. They say if it wasn't for you and the Salvation Army, we wouldn't have a Christmas this year."
Captain Mott says they averaged 45 cars an hour at one point Thursday morning of folks picking up toys and baskets.
