OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The number of people killed in auto accidents in Oklahoma is now 74 higher than at this time last year.

The state Department of Public Safety says 633 people have died on the state's roads so far during 2004, up from 559 at this time in 2003.

The number of traffic fatalities for the month of October, though, is down by 25.

The department says 42 people have died in traffic accidents so far in October, compared to 69 traffic deaths at this point during October last year.
