SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) _ A former Shawnee police officer faces a second misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Brett Edward Norton resigned from his position with the Shawnee Police Department after he was taken into custody early Thursday.

Norton was arrested on a similar count last month.
