To raise awareness, encourage early testing and help find a cure, the US Postal Service and the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America unveiled the new sickle cell awareness stamp Thursday in Tulsa.
The stamp shows an African-American mother and her small child. Sickle Cell is an inherited blood disease that primarily affects African Americans and people of Mediterranean decent.
