The News On 6 and Griffin Communications announced Thursday that the process has begun to replace the News On 6’s helicopter, SKYNEWS 6, and repair the satellite truck, Spirit Star.
SKYNEWS 6 was heavily damaged during an accident at Sand Springs’ Pogue Airport on Wednesday. The satellite truck was also damaged in the accident.
News On 6 General Manager Regina Moon announced Thursday that repairs to the satellite truck will begin soon, and it should be ready for duty by the end of July. Moon says Griffin Communications President David Griffin says replacement of the helicopter would also begin in earnest. She said that process would take a bit longer.
Concerning our colleagues who were onboard the helicopter Regina Moon says both men walked away from the accident and both are home recuperating. Meanwhile, a cause for the accident is under investigation by the FAA.
