Preparing For A Tornado

Tornado Alley is living up to its name this season. Twenty-two twisters have touched down in Oklahoma this year, 15 of those in May. Tornadoes can occur at any time of the day or night, and no area is immune to one so itâ€™s important to have a tornado plan to keep you and your family safe.

Pick a place where your family can gather if a tornado is headed your way.
This could be your homes basement, or if there isnâ€™t a basement a central hallway, bathroom or closet on the homes lowest floor.

Assemble a disaster kit to include essential medications, canned food with a can opener, at least three gallons of water per person, extra clothing and shoes, a flashlight, extra batteries and a radio.
