WICHITA FALLS, Texas (AP) -- A Texas mother has been indicted for allegedly selling her 15-year-old daughter to a man accused of child sex crimes.
Authorities say Tina Valdez had reported her daughter missing in August, claiming the teen was a runaway, but had instead peddled her for $3,000 to a man who took her to Mexico.
Officials say the teenager is now back in the U.S. and in foster care.
Jason Carlile is also back in the U.S., jailed -- as is the mother -- on $150,000 bond. They are chared with purchase or sale of a child.
