NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Incoming Oklahoma freshman Danielle Robinson is among 37 players who will compete for a spot on the USA Basketball under-19 age-group World Championship Team.
Robinson, an alternate on the last year's under-18 national team, will attend the junior national team trials at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from May 17th through 20th.
Among the trials' court coaches will be Langston University women's coach Donnita Drain. DePaul coach Doug Bruno is the head coach of the under-19 national team.
The under-19 national team will play in the U-19 World Championship for Women that will be held July 26th through August 5th in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Robinson is a point guard from San Jose, California, who led Archbishop Mitty High School to that state's Division Two state title. She averaged 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals per game as a senior.
She will arrive in Norman on June 3rd to begin summer class sessions at OU.
