STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) After two years as Oklahoma State's head football coach, Mike Gundy believes the foundation is in place to create a program that can win consistently.

The university's commitment to building its athletic program is obvious in the changes occurring in areas surrounded by orange construction fences near the football stadium. It's there in other ways, too.

Giant piles of soil sit across the street from Boone Pickens Stadium, where construction crews were pouring cement this week on a west end zone project that will eventually house new suites, a museum and upgraded facilities for the team.

A top-notch indoor practice facility will be built in the space a parking lot now occupies.

But beyond the bricks and steel, Gundy has also built a staff that he intends to keep for the long haul as he tries to create a continuous winning tradition instead of one that has had peaks and valleys over the years.

Gundy says it takes time to become established at the top and to maintain it, but the foundation is there for OSU.
