OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A Choctaw man dies early Sunday morning in Oklahoma City after being thrown from his car onto the interstate and then struck by a second vehicle. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 31-year-old Joseph Culpepper was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol says Culpepper was eastbound on Interstate 240 about 2:45 Sunday morning when his vehicle ran off the road, hit a guardrail and rolled twice, throwing him from the car.
Culpepper landed in the middle of the roadway and was hit by an eastbound 2006 Dodge Ram pickup. The driver and a passenger in the pickup weren't hurt.
The patrol says Culpepper wasn't wearing his seat belt.
