STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- The woman injured in a drunken driving accident involving former Oklahoma State coach Eddie Sutton is asking for more than $125,000 from the state.
Teresa Barnard of Perry says in a claim that OSU, Sutton and other university employees were grossly negligent before the crash in February.
Sutton was driving to the Stillwater airport last February tenth when he collided with an SUV driven by Barnard then crashed into a tree. Sutton later retired as head coach and pleaded no contest to aggravated drunken driving.
Barnard says in her claim she sprained her spine and knee, injured her hip and suffered headaches. The claim says she has nearly $40,000 in medical bills.
The state can either pay all or part of the claim -- or deny it. If the claim is denied Barnard can file a lawsuit.
