INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The Indianapolis Colts shared triumphant shouts and high-fives with fans during a parade through downtown in chilly eight-degree weather tonight.

An estimated 40,000 fans packed the RCA Dome to welcome the team home at a post-parade rally. Some had been there for hours.

Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning acknowledged the fans and his teammates and introduced coach Tony Dungy as ``our best friend'' during the ceremonies.

Fan Robert Smith of Indianapolis said he braved the elements because as he says, ``It might be a once-in-a-lifetime thing.''

The Colts won Sunday night's Super Bowl with a 29-17 victory over Chicago. That win gave the city its first major pro title in any sport since the Indiana Pacers won their third ABA championship in 1973.
