A group of men has robbed three Tulsa restaurants since the beginning of the year. Detectives now believe they have one of the suspects behind bars.
Nery Hernandez is facing six counts of robbery with a firearm, he’s being held on $300,000 bond for the robberies, and he’s being held without bond by ICE Oklahoma.
Police stopped Hernandez for a traffic violation last week. He was later arrested for possessing stolen property and having a stolen nine-millimeter handgun, officials said. A 38-caliber revolver and drugs were also recovered, said police.
Police still need your help catching the rest of the group. News on 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright has the details of the robberies in this week's "Catch a Crook."
The first robbery happened on January 2nd at 60th and South Memorial.
"Three Spanish speaking individuals entered the restaurant with handguns and forced employees to sit on the floor," said Tulsa Police Officer Scott Walton.
The second robbery happened on January 12th at 511 South Lewis.
"Robbed the customers as well as the employees of their cash and jewelry, as well as taking money from the cash register," Walton said.
The third robbery happened the next day at 47th and South Braden. Again, the men wore ski masks. They could be driving a gray, 90's model sedan.
Anyone with information on these robberies can call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS. If your anonymous tip leads to an arrest, the Crime Commission will pay you a cash reward.
