TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Tulsa athletic director Bubba Cunningham says the departure of Steve Kragthorpe as the school's football coach was not unexpected.
Krathorpe left Tulsa Tuesday after four seasons to replace Bobby Petrino at Louisville.
But Cunningham said his preparations for Kragthorpe's departure began months ago, and he hired a search firm last September.
He says his top priorities for replacing Kragthore will be to find a strong recruiter who is a strong fit at Division 1's smallest program.
