MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) _ A Texas man prosecutors say is connected to a violent Chicago street gang is facing 14 years in a federal prison.
US Attorney Shelden Sperling says 25-year-old Elijah Salazar of Gainesville, Texas, received the sentence in federal court, along with a fine and five years of probation after his release.
Salazar pleaded guilty in July to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, marijuana and cocaine powder. Prosecutors say he was part of a drug ring that ran through south-central Oklahoma and northern Texas.
Sperling says the group was connected to a Chicago street gang known as Satan's Disciples.
