Tulsa had at least 7 water mains rupture Thursday.
Repairing them is hard work and the city has crews on standby around the clock. A 12" line ruptured Thursday afternoon in the 2200 block of South Peoria Avenue.
It was typical of the kind of break the city was dealing with Thursday and likely because of the changing temperatures coupled with water seeping into the ground.
Tulsa’s utility operations manager Calvin Williams: "Real hot in the summer, we'll get a lot, real cold in the winter, we'll get a lot."
On average a repair takes a three man crew about 6 hours. It's a job they expect to keep doing through the weekend with the changing weather.
