NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- The Amateur Athletic Union will bring a national basketball tournament to Norman in 2008.

A minimum of 100 teams, 1,200 athletes, 220 coaches and close to 2,100 family members are expected for the girls' Division I 13-and-under tournament, which will include more than 200 basketball games. It is scheduled for July 11-19, 2008.

"Division I is their largest and best division," said Sherri Rogers, executive director of the Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau. "And the 13-and-under is the largest group. We bid on the 12-and-under, but we said during the proposal that we were open to whatever they offered."

The semifinals and championship game will be at the University of Oklahoma's Lloyd Noble Center.
