OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Republican candidate Ernest Istook is taking another swipe at Democratic Governor Brad Henry.

Istook has a new television ad that criticizes Henry's record on paroling state inmates.

The ad shows photos of people Henry has paroled on a deck of cards.

The ad also emphasizes Henry's clemency of a Mexican immigrant who was convicted of murder and sentenced to death in Oklahoma.

A spokesman for Henry said Istook's negative advertising distorts Henry's record and shows the desperation of Istook's campaign. Recent polls suggest Henry holds a commanding lead over Istook.
