WASHINGTON (AP) -- A new study says Oklahoma ranks 44th of the 50 states in how long the average resident can expect to live.

The study by the online science journal PLoS Medicine says the average life expectancy in Oklahoma is 75.2 years.

Hawaii is Number 1 in the survey with an average life span of 80 years while Mississippi is 50th at 73.6 years.
