OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- State officials want Oklahomans to take steps to be ready for an emergency during National Preparedness Month in September.
"Oklahomans know all too well the destruction that can be caused by disasters, whether they are natural or manmade," Gov. Brad Henry said Wednesday.
Kerry Pettingill, Oklahoma homeland security director, said Oklahomans should do three things: Get an emergency kit, make a plan for coping with emergencies and keep informed of events that could adversely impact their lives.
