OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- With the 2006 election still more than one year away, Governor Brad Henry has raised more than $1-million for his re-election campaign.
Henry, a Democrat from Shawnee, says he plans to raise millions more even though former Republican Congressman JC Watts has said he won't run for governor.
Two GOP candidates say they will run. Reports show that State Senator Jim Williamson of Tulsa has raised more than $84,000 for the race as of June 30th. Tulsa oilman Robert J. Sullivan Junior has raised more than $81,000 -- mostly from other oilmen.
State House Speaker Todd Hiett, who is considering the race, had almost $424,000 in campaign funds available as of June 30th.
