A Collinsville man is going to prison for 45 years after pleading guilty to killing a woman whose body was found floating in a Tulsa County creek.
Albert Mansfield pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Stephanie Rhoten as part of a plea agreement. He was originally charged with first-degree murder. Rhoten was killed in April of 2004.
County workers found her nude body, beaten and strangled, floating in Horsepen Creek near 156th Street North and Sheridan. Mansfield says he was drunk and remembers "coming to" with his hands around Rhoten's neck.
