OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma City company is hoping to create an index of the United States using photographs from every square mile in the country.

The online photo site Zoto is sponsoring Geo Project USA in which participants are asked to photograph confluence points. The points are locations where whole-numbered longitude lines intersect whole-numbered latitude lines.

There are 4.5-million points in the US that form a one-mile by one-mile grid across the country.

Zoto founder and chief executive Kord Campbell says the project would provide ground-level photos from millions of locations just one mile apart. He says people would be able to see virtually every square mile of America.
