SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) _ Former Oklahoma State pitcher Scott Baker nearly missed the phone call of his life _ the one telling him he's being called to the big leagues.

Baker was with his pregnant wife, Leann, at a doctor's appointment when Rochester Red Wings acting manager Rich Miller called Baker's cell phone to tell him he was being called up by the Minnesota Twins.

Baker couldn't answer the call, but returned it shortly and is now with the Twins.

Baker fills the roster spot of relief pitcher Juan Rincon, who is suspended for ten-days for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

Baker is a starter with Rochester but Twins officials say they haven't decided if he'll start or relieve, however he could start Saturday's game if the scheduled starter continues to have arm problems.
