WASHINGTON (AP) _ An Illinois company is recalling 500,000 safety harnesses sold with tree stands used by hunters because the straps can break and allow a person to fall, the government said Tuesday.
Hunter's View Ltd. of Peoria, Ill., is not aware of any reports of injuries linked to the harnesses, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
The Fall Arrest Systems, manufactured in China, have a white label bearing model number 3333 and the year 2004. Hunting and sporting good stores nationwide sold them with Hunter's View and Comfort Zone brand tree stands for $100 to $300 starting in January 2004.
A free replacement is available by calling the company at 888-878-0440, weekdays 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. EDT.
