OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Fraud on the Internet was the top complaint made by Oklahoma consumers to the state Attorney General's office in 2005.
Attorney General Drew Edmondson says his office received more than 1,500 Internet-related complaints last year.
Also ranking in the top five of the AG's consumer complaint list were credit reporting agencies, automobile dealerships, telephone and cable TV companies and medical and dental health care products.
Edmondson says Oklahomans can avoid fraud if they only provide financial information online to a secure web site. He also warns consumers to be careful giving out financial information over the telephone and to call the Better Business Bureau if they aren't familiar with a particular company.
