It's a magical transformation that happens every year about this time in Broken Arrow, the city's sanitation workers turn into Santa Claus, well, several Santa’s actually.

News on 6 reporter Heather Lewin says they call themselves the 'Sanitation Santa’s', they plan it all through the year, noticing families on their routes that may need a little extra help over the holidays.

The crew pools its own money along with co-workers' and community donations, then they shop, wrap and deliver to parents, so they have something special for their children Christmas morning.

Bill Cade says the crew shares part of what they'd be giving their own kids, but the great feeling they get back is worth any price. "Even my own kids on Christmas morning when we open presents. I just hope that everybody can have that same feeling, every child. Every child deserves it."

The tradition started 17 years ago. This year the Santa’s are making Christmas brighter for more than 60 Broken Arrow children.
