OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A record number of people are expected to travel during the Christmas and New Year's holidays in spite of rising gas and other travel prices.
Triple-A Oklahoma says 690,600 are expected to travel 50 more miles by car, an increase of 1.6 percent _ or more than 1,100 people _ over last year. Another 73,200 are projected to fly to their holiday destinations, an increase of 700 airline passengers.
AAA says the average price of gas in Oklahoma is $2.06 per gallon. The nationwide average is $2.18 gallon.
