OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- About 7,400 state Department of Human Services employees will be getting a bonus within the next two weeks.
The Oklahoma Human Services Commission has approved $1,000 bonuses as recommended by DHS Director Howard Hendrick.
The bonuses come from federal funding DHS received for high performance in programs including food stamps and services for children and families. This is the second straight year DHS workers will get the $1,000 bonus.
DHS is getting more than $9-million from the federal program. The bonuses will cost just under $4-million and the rest of the money will be used to upgrade DHS computers and for post adoption services for families.
