OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ University of Oklahoma president David Boren plans to return to campus on a part-time basis Friday after spending more than six weeks recovering from back surgery.
Boren had the operation to repair a gradual degeneration of the vertebrae and herniated discs.
On Friday he plans to meet with high school counselors and next week resume teaching his political science class and be ready for Thursday's grand opening of the Michael F. Price College of Business Price Hall.
Boren says he first experienced severe pain after appearing on NBC's ``Today'' show during the summer and was given an epidermal to control the pain, but had a severe reaction and nearly fell into a coma.
