Courtney Paris makes U.S. under 20 roster

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma center Courtney Paris has been selected to compete on the US women's under 20 basketball team.

After leading the nation in rebounding last season, Paris was chosen yesterday to join 11 other players and represent the US at the 2006 FIBA Americas Championship in Mexico City.

The US opens play on August 8th against Jamaica. The tournament runs through August 12th.

Last summer, Paris was the top rebounder on the US team that won gold at the FIBA under 19 championship. She's one of 4 players from that team are back for another go round.

Her twin sister and Oklahoma teammate, Ashley Paris, also tried out for the team and was one of the final four players cut from the roster.
