WICHITA, Kan. (AP) Spurred by five home runs, two of them during a six run first inning, the Tulsa Drillers beat the Wichita Wrangers 14-to-7.
Jordan Czarniecki homered twice for Tulsa Tuesday night, including a grand slam in the first inning off Wichita starter Neal Musser. Alvin Colina also hit a solo home run in the first inning for Tulsa that gave the Drillers a 6 nothing lead.
Tulsa added five runs in the third, thanks in part to consecutive homers from Christian Colonel and Czarniecki, to go ahead 11-to-2. Seth Smith hit Tulsa's fifth home run of the game in the fifth inning, a solo shot.
Tulsa starter Steven Register allowed 12 hits and seven runs in five innings but still picked up the win. Musser gave up nine hits and 11 runs in 2 innings.
Troy Tulowitzki had two hits for the Drillers, extending his hitting streak to 15 games. Tulsa has won five of its last six games.
