Another church has been vandalized, causing hundreds of dollars worth of damage. It happened at Indian Fellowship Baptist Church at 6038 North Owasso in Creek County.
The pastor says when he arrived he knew something was wrong. The front door was spray painted. And, there was more paint inside on the floor and on the church's Christian flag. Hymnals were ripped and scattered, obscene graffiti marked the walls, and the vandals made a mess of the church's fellowship hall.
Pastor Reuben Kelly: “I was so overwhelmed ya know I couldn't believe this was happening, couldn't believe it. Why would somebody do this?"
Church members refused to let the vandals ruin their Sunday. They held services outside, under a nearby tree.
Just a week ago, another Tulsa church was vandalized. Vandals hit the "Living Sanctuary" church at 1638 North Owasso for the second time that week. They stripped out an electrical panel that left the church in the dark for Sunday services.
Someone also smashed out a window and stole some equipment and bibles. The damage forced the small congregation to hold services outside, because their air conditioners were also stolen.
The vandals have not been caught.
