What do a former Secret Service agent, a mom, a jazz pianist, a graduate student and a grandmother all have in common?
They're part of the team of 12 people walking across the United States to educate Americans on the benefits of walking.
Its called Sportline Steps Across America. A team of walkers started in New York City in April. Monday, they stopped in Tulsa. The tour wants to urge Americans to live healthier lifestyles by walking with a pedometer.
Event manager Ryan Harpster: "You're more apt to walk greater distances and walk with more frequency if you're tracking your steps."
The team will end their journey in July in Santa Monica, California.
