A Tulsa man, who was beaten nearly to death, is fighting back with his pocketbook, rather than his fists.

The victim is so frustrated that no arrest has been made in the past six months, that he's offering $5,000 of his personal money to the reward fund. He hopes the cash will shake loose new leads in the case.

A retired Tulsa businessman was severely injured last November when a group of men jumped him from behind and beat him so badly, the paramedics thought he'd die before they got him to the hospital. Lori interviewed Bob a month later as he was beginning to heal. He had high hopes someone would be arrested.

Now, nearly six months later, Bob looks more like his old self, but is disappointed no one's been caught. "It's been frustrating cause I felt helpless." Bob had stopped at a Kwik Stop at 61st and South Peoria to get gas. He honked his horn at some slow walking men and moments later, a trash can hit him in the back of the head and the beating began. "I've done nothing to them. I don't even know them. I never saw them. I don't think this has been real fair for me."

Tulsa Police also want to solve this case. They say they've followed up every tip, shown many photo line-ups but no one can make an ID and no one is talking. Bob hopes adding $5,000 to the reward fund, will create new clues. "There's no way 12 guys or 15 guys can keep a secret in an area that small and nobody knows nothing."

Not having any witnesses come forward in this case is a situation police face every day. They say everyone wants to talk about the crime problem, but until citizens are courageous enough to come forward and tell the truth, criminals will continue to think they can do whatever they want and get away with it.
