Police Officer Injured In Overnight Accident

Two Tulsa Police officers are recovering after their patrol cars collide overnight. The officers were responding to a stabbing call at a local bar.

Two Tulsa Police officers are recovering after their patrol cars collide overnight. The officers were responding to a stabbing call at a local bar.  The officers were told there was a man with a gun.  While rushing to get to the bar, the two officers they collided with one another near 41st and Garnett. 

"The officers were responding to a hot call, an emergency call, with lights and sirens on, and unfortunately they collided with each other," said Tulsa Police Corporal Tim Lewandowski. 

One police officer was taken to a Tulsa hospital with minor injuries caused by the airbag in his vehicle.  No one else was hurt. 

Tulsa Police say the stabbing call turned out to be false.
