The Tulsa River Parks Authority voted unanimously Thursday to endorse the latest plan to develop the Arkansas River. That plan calls for a four-tenths of a percent sales tax that would raise $282 million. The money would be combined with $111 million in private money to pay for the development, which includes a series of low water dams.
Tulsa County residents vote on the tax increase on October 9th.
Meanwhile, Thursday night the city council discussed a resolution supporting development of the Arkansas River, but against a county wide sales tax. They're expected to vote on the resolution next week.
