The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Tulsa Police say a man is in custody after leading law enforcement through a multi-city car chase and hitting a Trooper's car.
According to Tulsa Police, an OHP Trooper attempted to stop 46-year-old Jarrod Nichols at a Conoco gas station on 33rd West Ave. Troopers say the Nichols took off, in what police now say is a stolen vehicle, down 33rd and cut through a neighborhood. About three blocks later near 36th west avenue Troopers say the driver put his car in reverse and hit the pursuing OHP car, pinning the trooper inside, before driving off again.
OHP passed the information to Tulsa police who found the car and started following the suspect. That pursuit went as far as Sand Springs where police say Nichols abandoned the vehicle with officers continuing the pursuit on foot. Officers say they were able to catch up to Nichols who refused verbal commands to surrender. Offices say the deployed a TASER and took Nichols into custody.
According to Police Nichols was transported to OSU Medical Center before being taken to David L. Moss. Nichols was booked on possession of stolen vehicle, eluding, obstruction and resisting arrest.
