A group of people are taking their time to feed, clothe and pray over people who are living on the streets of Tulsa.
Kindness doesn't always have to be a huge gesture. Sometimes kindness can mean meeting a need right in front of you, just blocks from where you live or work. Kindness can be as simple as a jacket given to someone in need, a sandwich and chips, a pair of shoes. That is what the volunteers with Hydrate Tulsa do - share kindness.
"Every time I step out here and have a conversation with someone, it humbles me, it makes me so grateful to have what I have," said Hydrate Tulsa Founder Renee McGirt.
Two days each week, this group meets up to share the donations they have collected.
"I want to be an influence, just help them because I figured I would want help too," said Hydrate Tulsa volunteer Charles Hines.
They head to bridges and the streets of downtown Tulsa to pass out sleeping bags, jackets, food, water and toiletries to people in need.
"To see the people have so much faith living underneath a bridge and still hopeful and still kind and still helping each other out," said Renee, “I think it is so easy to go every day not appreciating your house, your bed, your shoes."
While the mission is simple for Hydrate Tulsa, their impact is major.
"People should remember that just because we are homeless, doesn’t mean we are hopeless," said Robert, a man who lives on the streets in downtown Tulsa.
