Here’s a look at six things to know before you set your alarm for Thursday.
1.HEAR FROM TULSA’S LEADERS: Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin will participate in a bipartisan study on race relations with Oklahoma lawmakers. They’ll also talk about police reform on the all-day virtual meeting.
2.BECOMING CITIZENS: Nearly 60 residents representing 24 countries will be naturalized in Tulsa’s first outdoor drive-in ceremony. It’s at Admiral Twin Theater at 11:30 Thursday morning.
3.FIGHTING CANCER: It’s breast cancer awareness month and the Creek Nation will launch a new 3D mammography service at its hospital in Okemah. Services will be available for tribal and non-tribal patients.
4.SPEAK MULTIPLE LANGUAGES? The American Red Cross is searching for bilingual volunteers. There is a 30-minute Zoom meeting at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
5.FALL FASHION ON THE WAY: At noon, it’s the grand opening for H&M at Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa. It will be on the upper level next to Sephora.
6.WE’VE GOT SPIRIT: Sapulpa’s community pep rally is canceled because of COVID-19, but the annual homecoming parade in Sapulpa is still on at 6 p.m. Thursday night. If you’re going, you’re asked to social distance and wear a mask.
