Cotton Bowl Taking Extra Precautions For OU/Texas Weekend

Fewer fans than usual are expected to head to Dallas for the annual OU/Texas game this weekend as Cotton Bowl stadium capacity has been limited to 25% due to COVID-19 precautions. According to officials fans will need to get to the game early to allow time for security checks, make sure to bring a face mask and for the first time, will not be able to tailgate before or after the game.

Fewer fans than usual are expected to head to Dallas for the annual OU/Texas game this weekend as Cotton Bowl stadium capacity has been limited to 25% due to COVID-19 precautions.

According to officials fans will need to get to the game early to allow time for security checks, make sure to bring a face mask and for the first time, will not be able to tailgate before or after the game.

Alongside the stadium changes, for the first time in more than 90 years the State Fair of Texas will not be happening outside the stadium.

All fans inside the stadium will be required to wear a mask except for when eating or drinking. Face shields, gaiters, bandanas and masks with valves have been banned.

Officials say there will be no valet parking, general parking for fans opens at 8 a.m. Saturday morning and will cost $25 per car.

Kickoff for the game is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday.
