The Salvation Army and the U.S. Army's Quartermaster Battalion teamed up to fight food insecurity.

43 soldiers marched in Okmulgee from East 12th Street to East 8th Street in an event called "Ruck Out Hunger"

The food collected from the hunger march will go to struggling families all over Okmulgee County.

Master Sergeant Jeremie Johnson said that when he asked the soldiers if they wanted to help, no one hesitated.

"This is one of the greatest ways to give back. The city of Okmulgee has been so generous and kind to the 316th," said Sgt. Johnson.

The Army Reserves donated 1,300 canned goods.
