A Tulsa Church is doing something good by giving more than a hundred pairs of shoes to a boy's home this holiday season.
Pastor Michael Todd said Transformation Church bought every pair of shoes at Silhouette Sneakers & Art on Greenwood Avenue in Downtown Tulsa.
Silhouette Owner Venita Cooper said, it is not just giving the boys something special for Christmas, but it is also helping her business, which like so many others is doing its best to stay open during the pandemic.
"For sure my business down here on Black Wall Street has benefitted, this is the biggest Christmas gift I've ever received," said Cooper. "I've never been a recipient of such an incredible act of generosity and kindness."
In total, transformation Church spent $65,000 purchasing 168 pairs of shoes from the store.
Transformation Church said "We are a church that believes in generosity. This is an opportunity to support local businesses especially during this time of pandemic and also to share with kids that are in an unfortunate situation and let them know that they matter and are valued."
Silhouette is now re-stocking the sneakers and will have more in store this month.
